Pretty Lil' tea towels

This past November I got this cute!...
pretty lil' hand embroidered tea towel
at a craft faire......

Because I loved it so much, and wanted lots of them...
My mom, who was with me, said...
"why don't you make yourself some, they're easy"...
"I'll teach you how"...
Me,
not so sure on the sewing thing.
well......
She got me a present......

some pretty crisp white tea towels.....


some adorable iron on transfers....


a hoop. {I think that's what you call it?}


some pretty embroidery thread.....


some of my favorite colors.... love it!

to make my own pretty lil' tea towels...

I think this might be a perfect kind of weekend
to take it out of the box and get my lesson on
making these cute towels. The forecast calls
for a very cold and rainy weekend.

4 day weekend coming to a close.....

We have had a lovely four day weekend......

just relaxin' and chillin'......

but it's now coming to a close. : [

Today in the US we celebrate presidents day.......

A time to remember the past.....

So I have been enjoying the little break......

except the weather just makes you want to just be lazy......


I can't wait to start seeing the green on the tree's
and pretty blooms popping out......
I know it's right around the corner......

I've been working on a few new things for my Etsy shop.
I have really been unfocused and have negleted my little
shop lately. Something I struggle with in a huge way.
So one of the things I really want to focus on this year is
giving it my all .

I would love and I dream of doing this full-time and I will
never know that if a don't work on making it a reality.

energy to work on the mounds of laundry,

Going green with paper flowers.

I'm totally on a paper kick right now.......
I think because...
one-
it's like free
two-
your totally doing your part to reuse and recycle..
and three-
It's totally fun and the possibilities
are endless.

So here's my going green project...
I had some spice jars that I had saved and wanted
to reuse them......
and this is what I came up with for my jars....

I had some cut out paper flowers.....
these were cut out with a cutter.


my three little spice jars that I wanted to reuse,
all cleaned out, and labels soaked, and then washed off.


I got all my supplies ready......


I used a bit of this to age the paper....


and these little flowers that I had in my craft supplies
I used for the center.

but first....

I brushed with a bit of glue and then dipped in some glitter...


I then put it in the center of the paper flowers.....
and just used tape to secure...


I got some sticks .......


and viola' my pretty paper flowers....

and now....

some rice to fill the little jars....


and my easy make shift funnel made out of paper
that worked great to poor the rice in the little jars.


and there you have it a great thrifty,green idea.....


very easy....

very pretty.


and very green.

Sweet tooth......

I just couldn't resist this pretty lil' cupcakes.....

sweetness is my weakness......


Valentines sweetness is a definite weakness......

It was these red velvet cupcakes that got me......
I'd like to say that I baked em'.........

but I must confess, they had them at the supermarket
where I shop and they were calling my name.......

Today I got a lovely surprise.....

It was all wrapped so pretty!

Something I did not expect at all!

I just helped out a friend and this was her thank you to me!

crazy for paper hearts

It all started when I went in to this cute little shop and
they had the cutest paper heart garland cut out of old music
sheets.........

yes...
that's what sparked my paper heart love......

and now I'm in love....

I had some old music sheets that I had gotten at a rummage
sale this past summer so I dug them out...
and then went for it.....

no pattern, no perfect cutter........

I just went crazy with the scissors......
the way a learned when I was little....

fold,cut and open.......

{you bet this lovely box of chocolates is hidden where nobody

would look like inside the box of healthy whole grain fiber cereal}.....

yes, I'm definitely heart crazy.....

totally.....

totally crazy for paper hearts......
