A little prettiness in the morning

With summer comes lots of fresh berries
which then calls for morning breakfasts like this.
or anytime of the day really!
 yummy french toast!

This is probably not the healthiest syrup
but when your budget doesn't  always allow for the pure maple syrup.
or when you have mornings like this when I have everything else  and then I  open my cupboard,
and "what no syrup"!
So I like keeping this on hand, it makes for a nice batch of warm mable syrup.

it's so easy too
I usually use organic sugar for mine
which gives it even more of a maply syrup taste
its two parts sugar to 1 part water
and a 1 tsp. of  the flavoring
much like a simple syrup.

and served over warm french toast or pancakes
yum!
We have been eating a lot of fresh local raspberries lately
mostly sprinkled over yogurt.
Putting them on my french toast this morning
with some pecans and the warm syrup
 So delish!

There is something so elegant about eating french toast.
and  it's a perfect treat for enjoying every last drop of the not so rushed summer mornings.

Never fails everytime I go to Trader Joes I always have to stop and
see what little pretties they have out front.
Most of the time I can just look and usaully say to myself...
next time.
But this day I couldn't resist these adorable little patina pots.
All aged with old world charm.
I got 4 pots
and then of course they needed some old world charm little signs.

Love' em!

Hope you all are having a nice week! We are enjoying a bit cooler temperatures making for a very pleasant week!

This weekend.....

My little coffee break.....

I have been busy this weekend doing some spring cleaning......
Like the dreaded windows....
But with this lovely warm weather we are having I wanted a  perfect view of that bright sunshine!

So excited to have the roses blooming! I don't have alot but I love being able to clip fresh roses
for the house It's amazing what a difference a bit of fresh flowers can make! Not only a touch of prettiness
but a wonderful mood lifter!

I sure wish I would of done a before and after pic of this dresser, I  do seem to work on a spur of the moment kinda of way & usually once I'm into the project I think about what a great before and after pic it would be. Kinda like my coffee table in the pic above this one, it was a dark wood and now it is so much brighter painted white, I will have to get a better pic.
Anyway the dresser was already white, but kinda of a dull looking white with brass knobs.

So got that sudden urge to repaint & Hobby lobby had their knobs  1/2 off {Sweet!}
I had the white paint already, so just the cost of the knobs which was around 13.00 bucks
Can't complain about that and very pleased with the redo!

How about your weekend?
 Any fun projects?
